Fruitful exchanges at the FIS Coordination Group Meeting

This week, the Crans-Montana 2027 organizing committee welcomed the FIS and the Saalbach 2025 organizers for joint discussions.

With the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027 less than 2 years away, the Organizing Committee was delighted to welcome the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the organizers of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Saalbach 2025 to the Haut-Plateau for the FIS Coordination Group Meeting. Over the course of 2 days, fruitful and important exchanges took place between the various parties involved in the organization of the 2 weeks of competition from 1st to 14th February 2027.

On Tuesday, the Austrian delegation from Saalbach presented a debriefing of its World Championships. Led by Florian Phleps, Saalbach 2025 Project Manager at the Austrian Ski Federation, the delegation discussed key aspects of organizing such an event with the 3 parties involved, which will be useful to the Crans-Montana 2027 Organizing Committee.

Wednesday's discussions brought together the FIS and the Crans-Montana 2027 Organizing Committee. FIS General Secretary Michel Vion, accompanied by Director of Sport & Event Sandra Spitz and the other members of the delegation, were able to learn more about the organization of the races on the Haut-Plateau and to exchange views with Didier Défago (CEO), Daniel Bollinger (COO / Deputy CEO), members of the Management Committee and the entire Organizing Committee.

The many discussions held over the last few days will enable the Crans-Montana 2027 Organizing Committee to continue its work, with the support of all stakeholders, to put on a great ski rendez-vous in 2027, and also in 2026 when the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit passes through Crans-Montana.
