Transport & Mobility

Before your journey

Plan your journey to the World Championships in advance: due to the large number of spectators expected and the specific transport arrangements in place, journey times may be longer than usual.

We strongly recommend using public transport, with additional free services available from Sierre to Crans-Montana.

To plan your journey to Crans-Montana as smoothly as possible, keep these three key points in mind:

  • Free public transport between Sierre and Crans-Montana;
  • No public parking in Crans-Montana, park in Sierre;
  • Travel by train to Sierre whenever possible.

By public transport (recommended)

The easiest and fastest way to reach the World Championships is to travel by train to Sierre, then take the funicular or the official shuttle services to Crans-Montana free of charge. From the moment you arrive in Sierre, you will be immersed in the World Championships atmosphere with a wide range of activities and entertainment.

Throughout the event (on race days):

  • Free public transport between Sierre and Crans-Montana;
  • Increased funicular services with extended operating hours;
  • Direct shuttles from Sierre to Barzettes and from Sierre to Vermala;
  • Increased local bus services across the Haut-Plateau;
  • Additional SBB trains from German-speaking Switzerland are currently being planned: further information, including timetables, will follow.

By car

No spectator parking is available in Crans-Montana during the World Championships; all major public car parks are reserved for the event organisation.

Spectators and visitors arriving by car must park in Sierre and then continue their journey to the resort using the free public transport services.

Information on parking reservations and payment will be published soon.

We encourage you to carpool: further information will be provided soon.

Access to the different venues

During the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027 from 1-14 February 2027, no spectator parking will be available in Crans-Montana. We strongly recommend travelling to the event by public transport, as all event areas are easily accessible from Sierre.

Find the access map for the different event areas here.

After the competitions

  • Free funicular and additional shuttle services running continuously after the races;
  • Extended funicular operating hours until the end of the entertainment programme;
  • Extended local bus services within the resort until the end of the entertainment programme.

Fan clubs travelling by coach are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration is already open via the email address below to reserve a parking space and receive access information.
