World Championships 1987

A memorable fortnight

The 29th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 1987 remain unforgettable. They brought Switzerland success like never before and never since: The stars of the day won 14 medals, including eight golds (out of 10!), four silvers and two bronzes. Crans-Montana 1987 was therefore synonymous with a sporting take-off, two triumphant weeks that went down in Swiss sporting history. A united ski nation cheered its stars with pride and enthusiasm.
