A positive first meeting for the Crans-Montana 2027 FIS coordination group

In the run-up to the various World Championships, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has formed a coordination group consisting of leading experts. This group will be responsible for monitoring and discussing preparatory work by the local organising committee, and advising it in different domains.

The first official meeting of the coordination group for the 2027 Alpine World Ski Championships took place in Crans-Montana on 24/25 August, chaired by FIS General Secretary Michel Vion and FIS Event Director Sandra Spitz. The delegation from the Crans-Montana Organising Committee was led by CEO Didier Défago and his deputy Daniel Bollinger, head of Swiss-Ski World Championships Inc.

The following topics were discussed in detail: temporary and fixed infrastructure, general organisation, sport (World Championships schedule, World Cup races prior to 2025 and 2026 as World Championships tests), logistics (accommodation, transport, accreditation), marketing and communication, and also sustainability. The meeting was very amicable, and the FIS assured the organising committee of its full support in all areas. The next coordination group meeting will take place in April 2024. - Photo: DEPREZphoto sa, cransmontana
