One Year to Go: Crans-Montana 2027 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships

In exactly one year, Crans-Montana will welcome the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships 2027. The Valais resort has been preparing for this major event on the international calendar for several years, which will bring together athletes and spectators from all around the world.

Twelve months ahead of the event, the recent World Cup weekend marked an important step in the preparations. Held under special circumstances, with thoughts for those affected by the tragedy in Crans-Montana, it offered the chance to test both race courses and the entire finish area under real conditions.

From a sporting perspective, running both courses simultaneously was a significant challenge. The two technical teams were able to familiarize themselves with the coordination required, on-site circulation, and snow preparation, all aspects praised by the athletes. In the finish area, the new building allowed the teams to get accustomed to the facilities and the associated pathways. This full-scale test provided valuable insights to refine the welcome and flow for the 2027 World Championships.

The next major milestone will be the ticket launch, scheduled for 19 February 2026. This will mark the start of a truly unique adventure, where every moment promises to be unforgettable for the fans.

One year out from the big event, Crans-Montana is steadily ramping up its preparations. The lessons learned from this World Cup will feed directly into the coming months, helping to fine-tune every detail with a clear goal: to offer visitors moments that feel timeless.
