Heading to the World Championships with a co-presidency

At an extraordinary general meeting, the Crans-Montana 2027 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Association finalized the composition of its executive committee.

Following the resignation of its president, Claude-Alain Schmidhalter, the association’s general assembly, led on an interim basis by Diego Züger and Sébastien Rey, unanimously elected a new co-presidency. It consists of two members already serving on the executive committee: Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder and Diego Züger.

Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder, a lawyer from Valais, has served on the Swiss-Ski Presidium since 2024 as the representative for the Western Interregions. Diego Züger, for his part, is co-CEO of Swiss-Ski.

The executive committee retains its balanced composition: four representatives from Crans-Montana and Valais, and four from Swiss-Ski.
Stefan Binggeli, vice president of Swiss-Ski, joins the strategic steering committee of Crans-Montana 2027 as the fourth representative of Swiss-Ski, alongside Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder, Diego Züger, and Claudia Lämmli (COO/CFO of Swiss-Ski).

The four representatives from the region remain unchanged: Sébastien Rey (representative of the Association of Municipalities of Crans-Montana and vice president of the World Championships), Mike Goar (representative of the Crans-Montana-Aminona ski lifts and vice president of the World Championships), Stéphane Ganzer (Valais State Councilor), and Sidney Kamerzin (Valais National Council member).
