Green light for the 2024 races
For several months, the legendary Mont Lachaux piste has been undergoing meticulous preparation in the run-up to this February's races. This Saturday, the FIS officially gave the green light and confirmed the three World Cup races scheduled for 16, 17 and 18 February 2024.
"The piste is in excellent condition with 1.50 metres of snow along the entire slope," says the organisers. This augurs well for a weekend dedicated to speed, which will see the top names in the discipline, such as Lara Gut-Behrami and Sofia Goggia, go head-to-head.
All areas outside of the grandstands (on the track and at the finish) are free of charge.
Before the World Cup, there are two European Cup races on the programme on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 February. This is your chance to see the world's up-and-coming skiers in action on the Haut-Plateau piste, including the new Junior World Champion Malorie Blanc, who will be skiing on home soil. The access to watch the European Cup races is free.
Entertainment
A World Cup in the Valais means a big ski festival! A great atmosphere is guaranteed at the Barzettes and the finish stadium from 8am until sunset on all three days of the race.
On Friday and Saturday, there will be entertainment in the centre of the resort (Patinoire d'Ycoor) from 3.30pm, with prize-giving ceremonies and bib draws with the best athletes from 6.30pm.
There will also be a special concert by "Oesch die Dritten" at the Régent on Saturday evening, with "Die Fetzig'n aus dem Zillertal" as support act from 7.30pm.
Mobility
As parking spaces open to the public are limited in the resort, we strongly recommend that you travel to Crans-Montana by public transport. The SMC bus and funicular network will be entirely free of charge between Sierre and Crans-Montana (in both directions) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Additional buses will run on Friday and Saturday evenings for the ceremonies at Ycoor.
