Work on the Barzettes finish area began in March and will continue at a steady pace until the first snow.
In 2027, this site will be the showcase for the Alpine World Ski Championships. It will meet the logistical needs of the organization: timekeeping (in the renovated and adapted 1987 WC building), media and guest reception, as well as a large garage for TV trucks.
Outside the competitions, the basement will serve as a logistics base for Crans-Montana Exploitation (Sports et loisirs ACCM), which will finally have a storage facility between seasons.
About the construction site
Every effort is being made to limit disturbance to local residents, and the road is regularly cleaned.
Access to the site is forbidden, but photos are regularly published on this website thanks to a camera overlooking the worksite.
The site involves digging to a depth of 10 metres (and removing some 20,000 m³ of earth), to allow passage of the Vanire torrent. A veritable spider's web of cables and pipes also had to be precisely repositioned.
It should be noted that no work stoppages are planned during the summer in order to meet the deadlines.
For full details of the work, visit the ACCM website.
