Crans-Montana 2027 unveils its Festival
As the Guest of Honour at the 2026 Foire du Valais, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027 are unveiling their Festival: more than two weeks of music and festivities to accompany the competitions and bring the entire region to life from 1 to 14 February 2027.
Crans-Montana 2027 has brought together professionals from the music industry to create this programme alongside the sporting competitions. Highlights include a spectacular opening ceremony, more than 150 artists performing across 10 stages, 8 fan zones and a wide range of activities from morning until late at night. A major event within the event, the Festival is designed to turn the World Championships into a celebration for everyone, open and accessible to all.
“We approached this programme as we would a new music festival: by thinking about the artists, the venues, the days, the schedules and, above all, the different audiences who will be there. The World Championships bring together generations and people from very different backgrounds. We therefore needed to embrace a wide range of artistic styles. Rock, electronic music, pop, hip-hop, yodel, schlager, blues, reggae, classical music, brass bands and comedy: this deliberately eclectic programme aims to offer a complete experience and showcase the legendary hospitality of Valais to the many Swiss and international visitors expected on the Haut-Plateau,” explains Raphaël Nanchen, Head of the Crans-Montana 2027 Festival.
An opening ceremony to kick off the celebrations
The Festival will officially begin on 1 February at Ycoor with the grand opening ceremony of the World Championships, attended by some of the 600 athletes competing at the event, as well as Swiss and international artists and personalities, including Swiss DJ and producer Mosimann.
“We want to make this opening ceremony a major moment of emotion and celebration, bringing together music, entertainment and Valais identity to launch the World Championships in the best possible way.” - Samuel Bonvin, Co-Creator of the Opening Ceremony.
The Music Hall at Le Régent: a series of special evenings
Another key venue of the Festival, the Music Hall at the Le Régent Congress Centre will host several performances in a more intimate setting. Its programme will offer another side of the World Championships, with concerts and shows ranging from classical music to schlager, brass music and comedy.
Highlights will include Barbara Hendricks, one of the great voices of the international music scene, as well as Anthony Kavanagh, who will present his new comedy show.
Ycoor, the beating heart of the Festival
During the World Championships, Ycoor in Montana will become the festive heart of Crans-Montana. The races will be broadcast live on giant screens every day, free of charge. From 16:00 onwards, music will gradually take over, with a programme featuring Swiss and international artists. Eagle-Eye Cherry, Starsailor, Öesch’s die Dritten, 77 Bombay Street, Björn Again, Bastian Baker, Stress, Kadebostany, Synapson and Nemo are among the artists set to perform.
Ycoor’s Medal Plaza, at the heart of the fan zone, will also host the World Championships’ key official ceremonies. Every evening from 18:30, the public will have the opportunity to get close to the athletes and share in the excitement of the podiums, with the medal ceremonies and four bib draws taking place there.
Open throughout the day, the area will be a vibrant hub for meeting and socialising at the heart of the World Championships. Visitors will find partner activations, the Crans-Montana 2027 fan shop, a market showcasing Valais, a dedicated children’s area and a wide range of food and beverage options. When it comes to music, the Party Tent will keep the public dancing from morning until late at night.
And for those who want to keep the celebrations going, the Curling Club, the official après-ski venue of the World Championships, will welcome visitors after the ceremonies at Ycoor.
From morning until late at night - and completely free
The Festival will extend far beyond Ycoor. Fan zones in Vermala, Crans and Sierre, along with après-ski venues, restaurants, bars, clubs and temporary stages, will bring the celebrations to various locations throughout Crans-Montana and down in the valley. Each venue will offer its own atmosphere, identity and way of experiencing the World Championships, ensuring that everyone can find their own place to celebrate, share and connect.
From morning until late at night, from the slopes to the stage, Crans-Montana and the entire region will be buzzing to the same rhythm. And everywhere, access to the Festival will be free of charge.
