Crans-Montana 2027: Hosting contract signed
A next important milestone has been reached in the preparations for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships from 1 to 14 February 2027 in Crans-Montana.
The organising committee, the municipalities and the associations Swiss-Ski and FIS have signed the hosting contract, which governs the cooperation between these stakeholders.
Since the last World Cup races in Crans-Montana last February, the negotiating partners have successfully finalised the last outstanding details. There are now no further formal obstacles impeding the successful organisation of the 2027 World Championships in Switzerland.
«It took a lot of patience from all parties to work out all the details of the agreement,» says Urs Lehmann, President of Swiss-Ski and the organising committee. «We are delighted that we have now been able to conclude a hosting contract that is satisfactory for all stakeholders. From this moment onward, all partners can dedicate their full attention to the further preparations so that we can experience a spectacular ski festival in Crans-Montana in 2027 that everyone is already eagerly anticipating.»
The municipalities involved are relieved. «The municipalities of Crans-Montana, Icogne and Lens have been heavily involved in discussions with the various partners in recent months,» says Nicolas Féraud, President of the municipality of Crans-Montana and Vice-President of the organising committee. «We are very pleased to be able to concentrate fully on the organisation of the World Championships from now on.»
