Claude-Alain Schmidhalter appointed new president of Crans-Montana 2027
Claude-Alain Schmidhalter is the new president of the organizing committee for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027. He succeeds Urs Lehmann.
Claude-Alain Schmidhalter has been vice president of Swiss-Ski since 2016. The Valais native has represented Swiss-Ski on the steering committee of the Crans-Montana 2027 Association since Crans-Montana's successful bid and now takes over as chair of this body.
As Swiss-Ski's representative, Raphaëlle Favre Schnyder is now a member of the eight-member steering committee for the World Championships. She has been a member of the Swiss Ski Federation's steering committee since 2024.
The former president of the organizing committee, Urs Lehmann, has left the steering committee of the Crans-Montana 2027 World Championships due to his departure for the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), where he is now CEO.
With four representatives from the region (Crans-Montana/Valais) and four from Swiss-Ski, the steering committee of the Crans-Montana 2027 Association is now composed as follows:
